Sylvia Nasanga –After her leadership building training with FOWODE in 2010, Sylvia was inspired to start a candle making project to support vulnerable women many of whom are single mothers and persons with disabilities. Through this project the women are given skills to make long-lasting candles. The candles are sold and income gained is used to support the women out of poverty. The initiative has earned her respect in the community. This was evidenced when in 2010, Sylvia who is a person living with disabilities was elected the Chairperson for people with disabilities in Mukono Municipality.  Sylvia has gone ahead to broaden her material into chalk making and is planning, together with the 16 women she now trains, to add planting mushrooms.
